If you’ve followed us for a while, you probably know this project has been a little labor of love.🫶🏻 We actually started stalking this cabin online last year. 😂 We finally toured it over the winter, took a chance, made an offer, closed in the spring... and then spent the entire summer bringing it back to life.😅 It definitely wasn’t the prettiest cabin in the neighborhood—but we saw what it could become. Now we finally get to share The Eyrie House! It’s tucked inside McLemore Resort on Lookout Mountain, just steps from two incredible golf courses, mountain views that never get old, and one of our favorite places to slow down. Whether your ideal weekend is: ⛳ 36 holes with your buddies 🥾 Hiking to scenic overlooks 🍷 Dinner at Cloudland ☕ Coffee on the deck 🚵 Mountain biking 🌊 Exploring Lula Lake or nearby Chattanooga... ...this place puts you in the middle of it all.👏🏻 Seeing these before-and-after clips makes all the late nights, design decisions, and renovation chaos completely worth it. We’re getting so close to welcoming our first guests, and we can’t wait to share this little corner of Lookout Mountain with you. Welcome to the Deep South, where lake season doesn’t really have an off-season. 😘☀️🚤 One of the most underrated things about living in Alabama? The lake life. We have more than 20 public lakes across the state, but if we’re talking about the most popular options in and around Central Alabama, these are my Top 5: 📍 Lake Martin 📍 Smith Lake 📍 Logan Martin Lake 📍 Lake Tuscaloosa 📍 Lake Guntersville And an honorable mention has to go to Lay Lake along the Coosa River — especially because it’s one of the easiest lake escapes from Birmingham. There’s just something special about lake life in Alabama. 🫶🏻 Our mild weather means boating season can stretch well beyond summer. Even when the days get shorter, being able to get out on the water makes it feel like summer is never that far away. And for me, there’s nothing quite like the calm that comes from being on the water. Mountains, lakes, small towns, great suburbs + Birmingham right in the middle of it all… Alabama might surprise you. 👀 Which Alabama lake is your fav? 👇🏻

A couple years ago... we actually did it. 🫶🏻 I’ll admit I’m a little biased, but Riverchase is still one of my favorite neighborhoods in the Birmingham area. It’s the kind of place that just feels established—towering mature trees, rolling hills, beautiful golf course views, and homes with so much character. What really sold us, though, was everything outside the house. Golf cart rides to the club. Watching our kids at the playground. Summer afternoons at the pool. Weekly golf evenings as family. Kids golf clinics. Tennis clinics (I’m on a league now!), pickleball courts nearby and neighbors who actually know each other.🥰 And somehow, you’re still only about 5 minutes from the Galleria Mall, great restaurants, grocery stores, I-459 and just about everything Hoover has to offer. For our family, Riverchase has been more than a neighborhood—it’s become home.
